What is Osteopathy?

Firstly, any condition you would see a physiotherapist or chiropractor for can be treated by one of the osteopaths at Willsmere Health.

Our approach is thorough but simple.

On your first visit we will perform a full medical and personal case history. We want to know as much as we can about you, not just where you are sore.

This is followed up with a physical examination to determine if treatment is safe to continue, or if other tests are required (e.g. x-rays, MRI, ultrasound, blood test or referral to your GP).  Most of the time, further tests aren't necessary.

Your osteopath will relay information to you about your symptoms and form a treatment plan. This will involve a combination of exercise prescription, hands-on therapy along with education and a management strategy about your symptoms.

Pain is complex, and the reasons you have it aren't always clear and simple. We will work in collaboration with you to get you back to what you like doing.
